Summer has finally arrived and the kids were so glad to be home for the summer. I have to say that I am too! Addison is at a great age where she is super helpful and the other two are really getting to the age where they need a lot less assistance through the day. It is definitely a fun time!
We have had a Zoo pass at the Blank Park Zoo for three years now. Last year we just didn't get to Des Moines as often as I would have liked. It is kind of pricey if you don't make it at least three or four times. So we decided to let ours expire. However, ours was still good until May 31st of 2014. SO.....we had one day to use it!! So May 30th we took a little trip to the zoo!
We brought one of our good friends that we hadn't seen for a while. Here we are going into the bird area. The kids didn't really love the birds and were wanting to get through this fast!
We made our way to the fish. Because the clown fish are so popular (Nemo) they have started growing lots of extra clown fish. Here is Addie next to the tank of teeny tiny clown fish!

This is one of the first times I can recall going to the zoo without a stroller or a diaper bag! Shocking! Addison offered to carry her backpack with a few things in it. It went really well!!

It was a fun short trip through the Zoo. We saw lots of animals and got to watch them feed the sea otters. We skipped out on a few things because we were all getting tired and hungry! We packed our lunch and ate outside before we headed home. It was enough fun that we wore Nolan right out!!
Lauren has been begging to swim in the pool since last September. Literally!
So she was thrilled to bring out the pool! Our pool from last year had a serious leak and so we opted for a little larger pool from last year. They were excited!

Mammy & Papa bought the kiddos a slip n slide for Easter. They had to give that a test run as well!
Nolan liked the water, but he had no interest to slide down it!
