Photo dump catch up!! Here are pictures from January through March from my phone. I have to say I take LOTS of pictures of on my phone now that our new data plan lets us text them for free. It is a nice way for the grandparents and aunts and uncles to see what the kids are up to!!
This actually December 28th....just four days before Nolan arrived. Lauren and I were snuggling on the couch. I think she sensed something was going to happen and so she really wanted a lot of Mommy time.
Here was my view from about noon until 5:00 or so on Sunday, January 1st while I was in labor in the rocking chair. If I moved to sit in a kitchen chair my contractions got much faster and painful and so I was leery of getting to far from my chair!! Lauren decided to play Whack-A-Mole. Not the idea game to hear during contractions, but we survived!!
At about 7:30 Mammy arrived at our house and Adam and I took off for the hospital. We got to the hospital about 8:30. At about 10:30 the doctor broke my water, but Nolan took his time.
Finally at 1:34 in the early morning he arrived!!
And so began what Adam and I affectionately call the longest day of our lives. We were awake when the day started at midnight and we didn't get settled into our room until about 4:00 AM. We both tried to get a little sleep, but by 5:30 the nurses were coming in to do blood work and rounds. Here was Nolan at 9:22 that morning peacefully napping away!!

These photos are being kind of funny. The top one is the morning we were to come home from the hospital. Nolan and I were just snuggling in the rocking chair!! The one below is that night after we got home from the hospital just snuggling in his ISU hat. It was a wonderful time at the hospital. There weren't any other mommies or babies there and so we got he nursing staff to ourselves. So great!
The next day when Nolan was home we got to go outside and play! It was 60 degrees on January 5th! Nolan got to try on a sweatsuit and wear some little tennis shoes!!
Mammy came to stay for a week and she decided to lay him on the floor for a nap in the sun. Nolan just rolled right onto his side for his nap! He was just a week old here!
We took Nolan to his newborn pictures. He was 10 days old here. I wanted some cute sleeping newborn pictures. Instead he was awake the whole time and slept when we came home! Crazy boy!
The kids had their first movie night on the floor. Nolan joined in. Poor guy only has pink stuff to lay on!!
Here was Nolan and I snuggling one afternoon during Lauren's nap time. Not many pictures of me during this time which was fine. You can see how tired we were!! Nolan was two weeks old.
The next day Nolan only wanted to be held so I put him in my Moby wrap and wore him. He conked right out and slept well!!
I put Nolan in this cute outfit at 2 weeks 2 days old and set him up in the rocking chair. I swear he looked like a little boy here!!
Next day he had another nap on the floor. Just LOVE this sleepy newborn time!!
Almost three weeks old here.....wiped out from the day.
This is how he would nap most of the time. We have successfully used Snuggle Me wraps to swaddle the kids from birth until four months old. We also use the Happiest Baby on the Block methods of the 5 S's....swaddle, swing, shush, side and suck. Here he is on his "side", "swaddled" with the bouncy seat "swinging" or bouncing him. He probably started with his paci ("suck") too, but he didn't use it much at this age. We were so blessed to have such a great napper!!

Nolan was always so content. As long as his pants were changed, he was fed and he had a nap he was perfectly happy just watching the world around him!!!
Lauren got this frog paint set for Christmas from Papa J. and Grandma A. and she loves it!!
She loves to mix the paints and then dunk the brush into that blue part where all the water is!!
I remember that Lauren ran into something, but I honestly can't tell you what anymore!! You can see the red mark above her right eye! She has one speed.............fast!
Lauren's first attempt at "quiet time" instead of nap time. I know Addie wasn't napping by this age. So we gave quiet time a try. This day it went pretty well.
Two days later.............she crashed during quiet time!

Adam took off a few days to help me do the basement reno. and he got to snuggle Lulu and Nolan one morning.

Lauren got caught here. She was "swinging" the baby swing. Nolan was going pretty high when I caught her. Glad I had him strapped in!!

Adam left for Florida for a work/golf trip and Iowa was gorgeous! And my irises were coming up!!

We had daylight savings time....and Nolan didn't get the memo. He was suppose to be asleep!!!
The next evening was worse....this was at 11:00 at night!
The next day though he seemed to be just fine and adorable as ever!! I think Lauren was swinging the bouncy seat toys at him!
The kids and I ventured out for a walk one day in the sit and stand stroller. Nolan napped the whole time. Addie found some ginormous pine cones! We were able to see some of the other neighbors who hadn't seen Nolan yet. It was a nice walk!
This is the blasted ground hog that never seems to go away! Ugh! He was running back to the barn behind our house. We really dislike this guy and his relatives that dig up holes all over our yard!

Nolan three days into pneumonia looking SO much better!! Once we got a new nebulizer mask and a couple of days of albuterol into him he really turned around!!

A couple of nights later I was done feeding Nolan at about 11:30 at night and I looked down and both of my boys are sawing logs. You should have heard them snoring!!!
Nolan taking a nap in his Moby wrap! I made a homemade one for Lauren and it stretched out really quickly. Mammy & Papa got this one for us before Nolan was born and it has definitely been a better wrap!! He slept so soundly in it if he was having a rough day!! (Man....I look like I hadn't slept in days....yeah....that was a pretty trying time period!! So glad he has moved past all that!!!)

A happy Nolan another night that same week when he should have been asleep in his swaddle which we affectionately called "our baby burrito". Loved these sweet moments so much!! Three nights later he slept through the night!! Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Addie and I dropped off Lauren for a weekend with Mammy & Papa and then we went shopping just the two of us for some Easter things. We were sharing an Auntie Anne pretzel and slushy here.....mmmm!!!!
So much fun shopping just the two of us!!
What a fun and busy three months and man how those kids have changed just in that little time period!!
