He has risen indeed!!

Easter is such a wonderful and really the most important part of our lives as Christians.  I truly want the kids to understand that Easter is about Jesus rising from the dead after dying for our sins.  This becomes incredibly difficult especially considering how commericalized it has become.

Adam and I have decided to give the kids a couple of small gifts Easter morning.  Usually a new book about Easter and maybe a small toy.  We have a small Easter egg hunt in our house and then we get ready to go to Easter service at church.

Then we all hurried around to get ready for church.  The three kiddos all ready to go! 

We like to go to the sunrise service, but this year with a 3 month old we thought we better shoot for the service at 9:00.  We barely made it to church for breakfast before church, but we made it!!

After church Mammy, Papa and Aunt Lisha came for lunch.  We took time for a little photo op.  Here are the kids with Mammy & Papa.  Nolan had been asleep in his swaddle blanket and I was hoping he would go back to sleep..........he didn't! :-)

After lunch the weather was beautiful so we went outside to do some egg coloring.  This is probably the first year that Lauren will remember this and she really had fun.  She would just move the eggs back and forth between the cups.  I don't think she cared what color they turned out!

Addison, of course, had a plan and wanted something different on each egg. :-)

Late that afternoon then we headed out to Papa J. and Grandma A.'s for an Easter egg hunt and supper together. 

Papa and Grandma have the kids stay in the kitchen and wait and then all come out together.  Otherwise the older two would probably have all the eggs picked up!!

Papa does a good job hiding the eggs in tricky places for the older girls.  However, I think they had to have Grandma get this one out of the china cabinet so that they didn't break something!!

Lauren got a little boost from Dad to get this egg on top of the picture frame.

Grandma fills the eggs with money and candy.  They each enjoy opening every egg once we are done.  Little cousin S. was opening hers in her basket when she was finished.  So fun to see how big she is getting. 

And a picture of all six McKain cousins at Easter....ages of each in order on the couch...15 months, 7 years, 3 months, 5 1/2 years, 2 1/2 years & almost 4 years old. 

It was a wonderful Easter.   We were so glad to be able to spend it with our church family and each of our immediate families. 

Easter Egg Hunt Supper

During the Easter season we always have lots and lots and lots of plastic Easter eggs around the house.  Also this is the time of year that Adam is really busy and gone a lot for supper so we try to come up with different fun things to do.  So I found a fun idea on Pinterest for an Easter egg hunt supper.   

I collected a couple of empty clean egg cartons and set twelve eggs in them.

Then I came up with small finger foods to make the girls a decent supper. They had little ham sandwiches, string cheese, grapes, goldfish and fruit snacks for dessert.

Then I labeled each egg with a marking so each girl knew what eggs they were looking for and so that one girl didn't just end up with fruit snacks (which they were probably hoping for!).  Stars for Lauren....

While I hid the eggs in the living room the girls waited by their bedroom......and then they were off!!

Lauren needed a little help getting started, but she caught on pretty quick.

Addie wanted her eggs hided really hard so it took her a while to find them!

Here are both of the girls having their Easter Egg supper on the floor on their picnic blanket.  It was a fun night!  We will have to remember to do it again next year!!
